For me, I have had to rewire how I think about my practicing. It's really easy to notice and ruminate over what is not good. I can dwell on that passage that just won't fall well under the fingers, or - hey! why can't I remember that section; I've played it a million times! A cycle begins to develop into focusing on the negative. But, when I think about passages that are going well, how I am enjoying the sound of the piano etc. it's easier for me to being working on positive solutions and problem solving for passages and sections that are troublesome.
So - happy practicing on a Thursday! Let's notice what is going well and build on that foundation to fix the stuff and issues that are not going quite as well.
