You've heard of leg day but now it's time for articulation day. That's right, if you skip this day, you're performances will be puny.
(Ok, you can stop with the imitation voice now). I have found that to set aside a day for focusing on articulation to be helpful in my practicing. It helps focus some detailed practicing, even it if it is just for one practice session. Also, helpful is to build a rationale as to how you achieve certain kinds of articulation. For pianists, this is necessary and it provides an intentional framework for deep work.
